Manifold effects are one of the critical issues for liquid metal blanket/self-cooled blanket system. But the results are very few of 2D and 3D magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) effects in manifold duct because of MHD complication and limitation of experimental conditions. Also, it is not known why 10%-25% difference exists between theoretical value and experimental data. The LEVI (liquid-metal electromagnetic velocity instrument, from ANL, USA) was employed to get experimental data at SWIP (southwestern institute of physics) LMEL (liquid metal experimental loop) facility.
