If the controversy over the thinkers, Chomsky and Zizek, is better than supporting one of the two men, why not embrace both at the same time and make a leftist critique of the surveillance scandal? For our part, supporting either side means a loss of self, and we can focus on more useful aspects. Therefore, I think it is necessary to participate constructively in this hot-tempered confrontation. We must strive to stand on each other’s ground and realize that this seemingly hostile intellectual debate can actually complement each other. After a generalization of the debate and a critical analysis of the two positions, I will turn to a brief discussion of Snowden’s leak to examine their own contribution to the assessment of real politics. In my opinion, no one should step by step, but to bridge their apparent differences and try to avoid being harmed by the same kind of food.
