In today’s society ，having a decent English communication ability seems necessary for us teenagers. Proficient English in china would get you to the best education meanwhile it is a tool that we can use to gain more knowledges from all over the world.For modern citizens，English is now a basic skill that everybody should own. So people search for ways to improve their English. But how exactly can we do？As a senior high school student，I would like to share my special experience in learning English.
My parents seemed to know the importance of English when I was a kid. They bought me loads of English cartoons and picture books to cultivate my interest in English. And so did they succeed. I asked my mom to take me to English classes that were taught by foreigners and spent a great time there.
After a couple of years in primary school，I began to find English as a necessity when I was communicating with friends. And gradually，English learning became a part of my life.
Everybody started at remembering abc，and so did I.But remembering English words was difficult for me as a Chinese，so my parents came up with good ways to help me remember. They put small English notes on almost everything I would use in our daily life. Toothbrushes，combs，desks，piano，lights etc.Also，I learnt to use my time gaps.I used to go to school by car and would spent 30minutes on the way school that’s when my dad played English cds that came with English text books. I listened to it everyday and one day I found myself reciting to it. Through this，I got to know tons of phrases and daily expressions which really helped me a lot in my future study.
With time passed， I entered junior high school. At that time，I formed a habit to listen to English music. I was only attracted by the rhythm in the beginning and focused on the beautiful voices that the singers presented. But I found that I couldn’t understand the meanings. So when I was listening to the songs with the screen locked，if I came across with some words I don’t know，I would turn on my phone and look it up in the digital dictionary. Over time，I accumulated a large vocabulary in my mind. When the day I didn’t need to turn on my phone and check the meanings，I realized my English had improved to another level.
Since the music had little effect on me now，I explored another way of learning English that is to watching series and reality shows. when I was watching series or shows， I preferred to mimic the sentences that I liked or could be used commonly. After a certain extent of accumulation and practice，I could watch series or shows without subtitle. Watching indeed is a good way for accumulating vocabularies and usages. Despite the fact that China is not an English-speaking country ，we still have a good environment for English learning. A lot of universities have English corners where we can go and practice our spoken English.For example，I went to Sichuan University from time to time ，which has a very popular language corner that students like me can go there to find some language learners to chat with. It provides me with an easy and effective way to turn my efforts into reality and test the learning quality. The corners encourage everybody to talk，to speak out loud.Through it，I made a few friends in the same camp. Except for meeting people personally，with the help of the internet，I also tried making foreign friends on line. Many social media provide private letter function that two strangers can chat without being seen by others.I was often attracted by girls that are interested in makeup. So I shared my opinions about makeup brands，products and techniques while broadening my English scopes of knowledge. As senior high school students，I don’t have much time in chatting with others，so I was recommended a convenient way that is to attend speech competitions. It means a wonderful speech to prepare，to practice，to deliver. Making one is never easy work. It combines writing，speaking with rigorous logic thinking ability.An article includes clear theme and precise discussion which will be presented correctly and fully in the speech. Also，body language plays an important role which you can use to get across to the audience. So making a speech is really challenging and helpful not only in English study，but also in logic thinking ability.
People say passion is the best teacher，and I totally agree with that. Because，you passion drives you to explore the mysteries behind the difficulties，push you to get over the obstacles，encourage you in your pursuits. Any English learner should hold great passion in English learning process. Thus，it would be easier to study unstoppably.
I wouldn’t say how correct my ideas are，but I do hope that my advice is of great help to all the English learners. And I won’t stop learning English myself so as to keep up with the time.
