北京今日美术馆成立于2002年,在建馆五年来的时间里,今日美术馆以支持当下艺术发展为己任,以积极参与当下艺术史的建构为目标,秉持学术高标准及与国际接轨的选择,成为目前中国惟一一家民办非营利美术馆．这与今日美术馆关注当代艺术发展的努力是分不开的。而在中国现代艺术思潮兴起以来十多年的时间中,方力钧的成长与成功是中国当代艺术演进中最为经典的案例。十余年的时间中,方力钧拥有了当代中国油画界最骄人的美术馆收藏记录,较早地入围了威尼斯双年展和圣保罗双年展等国际重量级学术大展。在今日美术馆苹果分馆开馆之际,今日美术馆隆重推出中国当代艺术里程碑式的艺术家——方力钧的国内首个个展,汪逢伟大型雕塑揭幕并王晖设计的大型空间启用,正体现了今日美术馆定位于当代艺术的坚定信念。
Today Art Museum of Beijing was established in 2002. In the five years since the museum was built, today’s Art Museum aims to support the current development of the arts and actively participates in the construction of the current art history. It upholds the high academic standards and the choices that are in line with international standards , Becoming China’s only private non-profit art museum. This is inseparable from the efforts of contemporary art museums concerned with the development of contemporary art. In the ten years since the rise of the modern Chinese art trend, Fang Lijun’s growth and success are the most classic cases of the evolution of Chinese contemporary art. For more than ten years, Fang Lijun has the most impressive collection of art galleries in the contemporary Chinese oil painting industry. It was shortlisted for international heavyweight academic exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale and the Sao Paulo Biennale earlier. At today’s opening of the Apple Branch of the Museum of Fine Arts, Today Art Museum today launched the first solo exhibition in China by Fang Lijun, a landmark artist of Chinese contemporary art. Wang Fengwei opened the large-scale sculpture and opened a large space designed by Wang Hui. Today’s Art Museum is firmly committed to contemporary art.
