英语是中国教育体系中的一门重要课程,高考的必考科目之一,因此怎样教好英语,怎样使学生学好英语是广大师生及家长的最关心的问题。尽管教师和家长为此付出了大量的时间、精力和财力,英语仍是令许多学生头痛的一门课程。除了学习方法不当之外,动机不足或是缺乏动机也是一重要原因。在进行了传统方法与联系文化背景方法讲授新单词两种方法之后,北航飞行学院的36名大一学生参加了问卷调查,结果表明文化背景知识的加入确实对激发学生的学习动机具有积极作用。
English is one of the most important courses in China’s education system and one of the most important subjects for college entrance examination. Therefore, how to teach English well and how to enable students to learn English are the major concerns of teachers, students and parents alike. Despite the considerable amount of time, energy and financial resources teachers and parents pay for this, English is still a headache for many students. In addition to inappropriate learning methods, lack of motivation or lack of motivation is also an important reason. 36 students from Beihang University participated in the questionnaire after carrying out two methods of teaching new words by traditional method and contact cultural background method. The results show that the addition of cultural background knowledge does play an active role in motivating students’ motivation to learn.
