甘蔗螟虫是我省甘蔗生产的主要害虫,其中甘蔗黄螟(Argyropoce sehistaceana Snellen)在某些甘蔗产区为害严重。多年来以生物防治与药剂结合防治甘蔗螟虫,收到一定的效果。去年我省甘科所在研究过程中发现甘蔗黄螟性引诱效果明显。若能将性引诱与化学不育等新技术结合在一起使用,有可能是较为彻底地解决甘蔗黄螟为害,为农业害虫防治领域开一条新路子,有关领导部门组织了有关单位进行大协作,甘蔗黄螟化学不育效应以及与性外激素配合使用方法部分工作交由省甘科所、广东农林学院植保系及顺德县农业局负责协作完成。具体工作在顺德县大良公社进行。
