1.在意大利访问的日子,我好几次瞥见维苏威火山的雄奇身影。 一次是从那不勒斯渡海去卡普里岛,站在渡轮的甲板上向陆地回首眺望,维苏威火山静穆地耸立天际,白云缭绕峰巅,令人敬畏又感到无比神秘。 另一次则是从濒临亚德里亚海的佩斯卡拉前往庞培。当汽车临近庞培时,维苏威火山突然扑入眼帘,虽然它的神态非常安详,沐浴着地中海绚丽的阳光,但我却感觉十分刺眼,心中涌起难以名状的复杂情感。 因为,一看到这锥形的山体,我就立即想起一千九百年前的一场天灾。那是发生在公元79年的维苏威火山的猛烈爆发,位于山麓的几个人烟密集的城镇——庞培、斯塔比亚和赫库兰尼姆,在这场猝不及防的天灾
1. On the days of Italy’s visit, I caught several glimpses of the magnificent figure of Mount Vesuvius. Once from Naples to Capri Island, standing on the deck of the ferry looking back to the land, Mount Vesuvius quietly skyrocketing, white clouds around the summit, awesome and feel very mysterious. The other is from Picasso on the Adriatic Sea to Pompeii. When the car approached Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius suddenly plunged into sight. Although its demeanor was serene and bathed in the sunshine of the Mediterranean Sea, I felt very dazzling and the heart overflowed with indescribable complex emotions. Because, as soon as I saw this cone of mountain, I immediately remembered an act of God 1800 years ago. It was a violent outbreak of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, in several densely populated towns in the foothills - Pompeii, Stabia and Herculaneum, in this unexpected catastrophe
