日本跨国公司始建于本世纪50年代,80年代以后取得了迅速发展.到1987年,其海外直接投资额已从1973年的23亿美元增至323亿美元,成为当今日本经济发展的主要支柱.日本跨国公司的基本特征是: 1.循序渐进的后发性.日本的跨国公司是根据整个国民经济的实际发展需要,紧密地同经济实力相适应,有节制、分阶段地逐渐发展起来的,表现出极强的先国内后国外、以国外补国内,即把经济中心置于国内的循序渐进的后发性特征。
