In 2013, dancer Andrea Alvarez became the first winner of an undergraduate degree in sports human sciences dance at Texas A & M University, one of the nation’s premier state-of-the-art public universities. She had never thought of taking a dance-related degree since she was a student dancer, but when she entered Texas A & M University, she realized she could not do without dance. At the same time, Texas A & M University is launching a new “Dance Science” project - bringing science-related lessons to dance. It is an attractive discipline for dancers who want to move into the dance medical industry and dancers who want to have acting opportunities and a strong academic desire.
