针对近年炉料劣化,碱金属严重影响高炉冶炼的问题,对某钢厂碱金属对焦炭的影响进行了研究。前人大多是采用焦炭浸泡碱金属碳酸盐的方法(“浸碱”法)研究碱金属对焦炭的影响,根据实际高炉炉身中下部区域,绝大部分碱金属是以气态形式存在,设计了一个吸附碱金属蒸气的装置,研究了碱金属蒸气对焦炭的影响;还研究了用来改善烧结矿低温还原粉化率的CaCl2可与高炉中碱金属反应生成不同的氯化物,并测试了不同碱金属氯化物对焦炭高温强度的影响。
