This article discusses grinding of aspherical molds with a hard material on a computerized CNC machine and measuring the shape of the mold with stylus technology. The NA = 0.45 lenses replicated with these molds were measured and a mean optical path difference less than 0.030 wavelength was obtained at a wavelength of 780 nm.
