The aim of this study was to find an economic nutrient that would stimulate the growth of underground microbes in the Pacific Oilfields (CPI) field in Indonesia in order to produce enough biogenic products to block high penetration Leakage layer in the reservoir. If successful, the injected fluid may redirect its way into the undeveloped area of the reservoir, improve sweep efficiency and extend the life of a flooded field. This article describes how to research and test large quantities of nutrients indoors for this purpose. The main findings of this study indicate that several nutrients have successfully produced biogenic products under high temperature, low salinity reservoir conditions and that for the three experimental CPI reservoirs (Balam South, Bangko and Minas fields ), Molasses is the most economical nutrient. As a result of this study, an in-house study was started to see if microorganisms growing in in-vitro tubes could also grow within the reservoir core in order to reduce the permeability sufficiently low to justify conducting the field test of.
