Dutch and British researchers report that plasma adiponectin levels are inversely related to renal function in patients with type 1 diabetes. Adiponectin is one of the specific and highly expressed proteins in adipocytes. Dr. Maastricht University Hospital Casper G Schalkwjik and colleagues report in Am Clin Endocrinol Metab Magazine that while obese patients and type 2 diabetes
