For the first time to describe the extinct palms cedar of the Lower Cretaceous Skipid mudstone in the Lower Cretaceous East Devonshire, England. Due to the high degree of pyrite mineralization, the branches are almost not squeezed but are three-dimensional in shape, and their internal anatomy is largely preserved, in particular woody tissue. These branches are covered by the original stratum corneum, so the anatomical details of the epidermal structure, including the stomatal apparatus, are also well preserved. This article is the first to give an exhaustive account of the identifiable plant fossils in the Sparkith Mudstone Formation. This study extends and complements previous studies of sparse ramets on the production of mainly continental strata in southern England and elsewhere.
