Taiwan's “China” -3 satellite system was originally scheduled for launch on March 16 at the “Taurus” launch vehicle at the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The United States refuses to launch it because it disagrees with the words “Republic of China” and “FORMOSAT3” on the rocket. Taiwan is still fighting for it. “China” -3 satellite system consists of 6 microsatellites. Taiwan said that the purpose of launching the “China” -3 satellite is to establish a global climate real-time monitoring system for weather forecasting. However, since the satellite is equipped with an advanced GPS receiving device, it can receive the signals from the U.S. GPS satellites and may in the future be Taiwan-based research and development of land attack cruise missiles to provide GPS guidance to improve Taiwan's long-range precision strike capability.
