1973年5月在西班牙召开第一次国际柑桔讨论会,虽然没有提出什么革新的技术,但有关澳大利亚栽培的许多领域的研究已有进展。提出机械采收的论文很少,主要是美国的佛罗里达州正在大力进行。为了代替人工摘果,必须找到一种办法使果实脱离,再有一种收集果实的适宜方法。采收机械化:已经试用过许多机械脱果的方法。看来成功的一个办法是用空气鼓风来摇动果树或枝条。可是要把果实摇脱需要很大的力量,这是一个大问题。应用化学药剂便会减少摇脱所需的力。CHI(Cycloheximide属环己烷一类的化合物——译者)就是松脱果实,而不伤叶片的唯一化学药剂,尽管还须找出其他更好的药剂。CHI有一些缺点,它污损果实,也会使幼果松脱,而对伏令夏橙在回青时期的效果很差。
The first International Citrus Symposium held in Spain in May 1973, although no innovative technology was proposed, has been progressing in many areas of Australian cultivation. There are few papers that suggest mechanical harvesting, mainly in Florida, USA. In order to replace artificial plucking, one must find a way to disengage the fruit, and then there is an appropriate method of collecting the fruit. Mechanization of Harvesting: Many methods of mechanical decolouration have been tried. One solution that seems to be successful is to use air blast to shake fruit trees or branches. However, it takes a lot of power to shake off the fruit, which is a big problem. Application of chemicals will reduce the force required to shake off. CHI (Cycloheximide is a compound of cyclohexane) is the only chemical that loosens fruits without damaging the leaves, though other, better agents need to be identified. CHI has some disadvantages. It can foul the fruit and loose the young fruit, which is not good for the summer orange.
