老君公社南襄城大队位于远安县北部,共有七个生产队,1,007人。有耕地985亩,其中水田873亩,为稻麦两熟制。历年小麦面积占夏粮总面积的65％左右,小麦总产占夏粮总产的79％,占全年粮食总产的20％。自1965年起,十年来小麦平均亩产376.6斤(其中四年超过400斤)。以小麦为主的夏粮丰收,有力地促进了全年粮食的增产,使得这个大队在学大寨的十年中,获得了粮食两年跨《纲要》,八年超千斤的好收成。特别是去冬今春,南襄城大队的
