川西高山原始林区,已建立十八个林业局,其木材产量占全省企业产量的80％,是我省重点木材生产基地之一。由于森林资源的开发,木材产量的提高,普遍实行的采伐方式为皆伐作业,导致了森林的集中过伐。企业经营区内现仅结存森林蓄积量2.28亿立方米,出材量1.31亿立方米。如按一九七九年的实际产量水平推算,只能经营利用40年左右。对此,川西高山原始林区,特别是冷、云杉复层异令林,如何确定主伐利期限,並以此为基础确定轮伐期,达到长期经营,永续利用,是需要进一步研究的课题。
The original forest area in western Sichuan has established 18 forestry bureaus, accounting for 80% of the total output of the province.
