水稻土是一种特殊的耕作土壤。在水旱轮作情况下,其耕层在水稻大部分或全部生育期间,总是淹浸在厚薄不一的水层之下。 由于长期淹水的影响,土壤的水、气、热以及养分状况必然与旱作土壤有别,而且更由于土壤颗粒是以固相的形式分散在液相——水之中,一些非水稳性团聚体的解体使得耕层土粒的排列发生重大改变,因而结构的形式及其所负担的任务,也与旱作土壤很不相同。土壤团聚体的数量鉴定,对研究土壤结构有一定的实际意义。
