1937年，驻武鸣县的南宁区民团指挥官、国民党将领梁瀚商把爱国华侨胡文虎、胡文豹兄弟俩所赠办学款交给武鸣，建了一所校舍——城厢乡中心国民基础学校。地点在风光确施、古树参天，原陆荣廷私人花园——明秀园西侧，为一座四层砖木结构的教学楼，当地群众称为“文虎楼”。194
