The “Takamachi Don” Theater is a unique building in Tokyo, Japan. The key point of this theater design is to enable the actor and the audience to have a direct communication experience, avoiding the theater being too modern and losing human touch. At the same time, similar to the circus shed, it will be possible to dismantle the assembly easily and attract people’s attention on the mediocre streets. Based on the above considerations, the designer designed the “Takamachi Donza” theater as a 12-sided building, 23 meters high and 40 meters diagonal. In order to facilitate the movement, the structure adopts a steel pipe with a length of 9 meters and a diameter of 48.6 millimeters. It uses 25,000 finished connection cards and connects the steel pipes with the friction force after clamping. The perimeter wall is also surrounded by the same steel pipe. The outer wall is covered with black plywood, and the roof is covered with red canvas. This design makes “Shimomachi Don Street”
