近几年来,国内外水稻育种者应用理化因素处理IR_8,旨在诱发早熟、优质、抗白叶枯病突变体的报导甚多。IR_8于1967年引入我国南方稻区,又称科字6号或691,具有分蘖强、株型好、产量高等优点,唯生长期长达150天左右,引入我省无法作早稻栽培。于是,自1971年春,我们曾用CO~(60)—γ射线3万伦琴处理IR_8干种子,期望诱发早熟突变体,从中选育出早熟高产新品种。为了加速育种进程,采用厦门秋繁、海南岛冬育的一年
