Objectives: To analyze the cardiovascular risk (CVD) risk associated with metabolic syndrome (MS). Methods: A total of 635 patients with MS and 257 patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) received in our hospital from July 2013 to July 2015 were enrolled in this study. Predict the risk of CVD. Results: The absolute threat in MS group was significantly higher than that in T2DM group (P <0.05). The absolute threat ≥5% in MS group was significantly higher than that in T2DM group (P <0.05). With age, the absolute risk ≥ 10% of the proportion of all showing an increasing trend. CONCLUSIONS: Metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes are all extremely high absolute risks and have indications of intensive care. However, patients with metabolic syndrome have a greater risk of CHD and need to step up their initial comprehensive intervention.
