Objective To explore the effect of focusing solution mode on perioperative anxiety, depression and self-care in patients with cervical cancer. Methods From September 2013 to August 2015, 160 patients with cervical cancer who underwent radical nephrectomy in Fuxin Second People’s Hospital were divided into observation group and control group with 80 cases in each group. Patients in the observation group used a focused mode of solution, while patients in the control group adopted a traditional perioperative nursing model. The anxiety self-rating scale (SAS), depression self-rating scale (SDS) and self-care ability measuring scale (ESCA) were used to evaluate the psychological status and self-care ability of both groups on admission and on discharge. Results At discharge, the scores of SAS and SDS in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (9.01 ± 1.02) and (10.73 ± 1.12) points, significantly higher than those in the control group (4.73 ± 0.65) and (5.31 ± 0.68) The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (both P <0.05). At discharge, the scores of health knowledge, self-concept, sense of self-care and self-care skills in the observation group were significantly higher than those on admission (13.72 ± 1.32), (5.68 ± 0.72) points, (3.78 ± 0.54) points and 1.21) were significantly higher than that of the control group (8.83 ± 1.11), (2.76 ± 0.45) points, (1.82 ± 0.36) points and (4.43 ± 0.56) points respectively. There was significant difference between the two groups All P <0.05). Conclusions Focusing solution can help alleviate the negative emotions such as anxiety and depression in perioperative patients with cervical cancer and improve their self-care ability.
