There are two major modern muddy sedimentary areas on the East China Sea shelf: one is the coastal muddy area along the coast of Fujian and Zhejiang (hereinafter referred to as the coastal muddy area); the other is the muddy area of the southwest outer shelf of Jeju Island in the northeast of the East China Sea shelf Referred to as the outer continental shelf muddy area.) The two modern sediments in the muddy area directly cover the sandy sediments and shelf sediments on the shelf. Most of the rest of the shelf is covered by so-called residual sand. Sedimentation, many people have been studied, but most are limited to the source and distribution of the material characteristics, and rarely discussed the process of material deposition. However, to ascertain the sedimentary mechanism of sediment and its controlling factors, the study of sediment has a certain Theoretical significance, but also may have practical significance. Therefore, the author makes use of the maritime survey data from the joint study of marine sedimentation between China and the United States, combined with the previous research results, through comparative analysis of the composition of the three components of suspended solids, mud and surface sediment And the distribution characteristics of the relationship with hydrological conditions, trying to clarify the East China Sea shelf sediment sediment and its environmental significance.
