Here, “this article” should be understood in a broad sense, not just in the field of literary criticism. Undoubtedly, hermeneutics stems from the interpretation of theology, law, and literary texts. However, its central focus is interpretation and understanding, including not only all human forms of communication other than writing but also all other forms of engagement. This is what modern contemporary hermeneutics calls “the turn of ontology.”
