Charles de Gaulle Airport is located in the northeastern suburbs of Paris, 24 kilometers from the city center and is one of the two largest civil airports in Paris. The peak capacity of the airport design is 150 aircraft takeoffs and landings per hour. By 1990, the annual passenger volume is expected to reach 50 million passengers. Every day, tens of thousands of large cars and nearly 100,000 cars will enter and exit the airport. Workers and freight vehicles will not be included, and traffic conflicts will intensify. Many people in the United States oppose this airport and say that it is too concentrated. Millions of people can only get in and out of the terminal by car. It is a “boarding machine.” It is technically unavoidable. The cost of Charles de Gaulle Airport is also quite high. It is only the first phase of the project (excluding Terminal 2) and the cost is approximately RMB 600 million. However, its design has its own uniqueness and some aspects can be used for reference.
