The 1992 budget proposed by the U.S. Bush administration requires a substantial increase in major space research areas and basic scientific research, including the cost of organizing an unprecedented scale multi-sectoral collaborative study of global climate change. The budget proposes $ 75.6 billion for research and development, an increase of 13% over 1991. This includes an 18% increase for the National Science Foundation (NSF), which is, in principle, provided to individuals of researchers engaged in basic research at universities and colleges, providing these researchers with state-of-the-art equipment and instruments.
