There is a compelling phenomenon in the study of human culture in the 20th century: language research has become the common concern of humanities scientists. Scientists from different fields have proposed from different aspects the most fundamental distinguishing feature of man and animal: man is a symbolic animal, that is, animal that can use symbolic symbols to create culture.
