Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of combined therapy of clotrimazole and itraconazole in patients with intractable vaginitis. Methods: A total of 68 patients with intractable vaginitis were enrolled in our hospital from January 2012 to January 2014. The patients were divided into observation group (clotrimazole suppository + itraconazole group) and control group (itraconazole group) , 34 cases in each group. The curative effect and adverse reaction rate of the two groups were compared, followed up for 6 months. The relapse rate of the two groups was observed. Results: The total effective rate was 94.12% in the observation group and 73.53% in the control group (P <0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 17.65%, which was not significantly different from that in the control group (14.71%) (P> 0.05). The recurrence rate in the observation group was 11.76%, which was significantly higher than that in the control group (38.24%, P <0.05). Conclusion: The combination of clotrimazole suppository and itraconazole can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of refractory vaginitis patients without increasing adverse reaction rate and low recurrence rate, which is worthy of promotion.
