国家教委1985年初颁布的普通高校本科“大学英语教学大纲”(以下简称“新大纲”)推动了一场全国性的“公共外语”教学改革。这场改革(以下简称“分级教学”)的内容包括强调英语共核训练、提倡分级教学、组织全国统考三个方面。它开展至今已有7个年头了。对这一重大问题很有必要进行一次系统回顾和总结。本文即试图从“分级教学”出现的时代背景、外语教学理论认识的发展、“分级教学”与其它教学组织形式的比较、“分级教学”中应注意的几个关系等方面对这一问题作些初步的探讨。
The national education commission promulgated the “Undergraduate English Teaching Syllabus” (hereinafter referred to as the “New Syllabus”) at the beginning of 1985 to promote a nationwide “public foreign language” teaching reform.
