Teaching Chinese as a foreign language has always been a major difficulty in teaching, especially for students such as Europe and the United States, how to improve their ability to remember Chinese characters has been the focus of many foreign language teaching teachers. Many people think that stroke order teaching can enhance students’ memory of Chinese characters. But is it still hard to come to a conclusion? Since the end of 2013, the author has undertaken teaching work at the Confucius Institute in Munich. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to find out the final answer to this question through experimental research. Through the experiment and data analysis, the results showed that: (1) Stroke does help the memory of Chinese characters; (2) Stroke can promote the retention of Chinese characters in the brain. On this basis, the author puts forward some opinions and speculations on the relationship between stroke order and the memory of Chinese characters and the possible research directions in the future.
