Molybdenum is the weaker reducing agent. Some of the more powerful oxidizers have been measured by potentiometric titration with pentavalent molybdenum standard solutions, but have not yet been found in coulometric titration. This paper reports the conditions for the electrolysis of pentavalent molybdenum for coulometric titration and the main results of coulometric titration of cerium (Ⅳ), chromium (Ⅵ) and vanadium (Ⅴ) with this reagent.
