血吸虫病是发展中国家主要疾病之一。血吸虫病主要死因是肝虫卵肉芽肿以及继发性的肝纤维化。研究表明,感染血吸虫经杀虫治疗后,未成熟虫卵仍可继续发育,同时血吸虫虫卵肉芽肿引起的免疫反应及纤维化仍在继续,而且,一旦肝脏纤维化达到一定程度,即使去除了诱因,纤维化仍将继续发展。因此,如何在肉芽肿形成阶段以及肝纤维化早期,用药物干预、预防其发展,是继杀虫治疗后另一个控制疾病发展的关键。然而至今仍无高效低毒的药物
