Since 2003, the wetland-friendly investment model has been used to conserve Tanzania’s wetland resources and improve rural living standards. However, the research that links this model with the family economy is still relatively rare. This paper attempts to quantitatively analyze the economic benefits brought by the implementation of wetland-friendly investment patterns. A questionnaire was used to survey the basic situation of 174 rural families in the Ndembera Valley and their livelihoods. The SPSS ver. 20 software was used to quantitatively analyze the data obtained through descriptive statistics, t test and regression analysis. The results showed that after intervention, total annual household income increased by 732 U.S. dollars. This study shows that incentive models can be used to conserve and utilize local wetland resources. Similar techniques can be applied to other similar studies. In addition, the study also shows that the comprehensive impact of this model on family poverty reduction should take into account socio-economic factors.
