Japan’s recently released demographic and forecasting materials have drawn the attention of all sectors of Japanese society. According to the data provided by this material, the number of newborns in Japan in 1973 was more than 2 million. By 1989 it dropped to 1.25 million. At present, the average number of children born to a Japanese woman is 1.67. Demographics show that the population of this country will start to decrease from a total population of 136 million in 2015. By 2080, Japan’s total population will return to the present level of 124 million and then decrease rapidly. According to the analysis, one of the reasons for the rapid decline in the birth rate in Japan is widespread late marriage. At present, the average age of Japanese families to establish families is 28, 26, and 26. The main factors driving young men and women to repeatedly postpone their marriage dates are housing difficulties and the costs of getting married. The general wedding costs at least 300-500 million yen, the average wage of 300,000 yen per month for Japanese people, to gather enough money is not easy.
