刘东生,1917年出生,天津市人,地球环境科学研究领域专家,中国科学院院士,第三世界科学院院士,欧亚科学院院士。他从事地学研究近60年,对中国的古脊椎动物学、第四纪地质学、环境科学和环境地质学、青藏高原与极地考察等科学研究领域,特别是黄土研究方面进行了大量的原创性研究,使中国在古全球环境变化研究领域中跻身世界前列。曾荣获2002年度“泰勒环境成就奖”,2003年度“国家最高科学技术奖”。
Liu Dongsheng, born in 1917, is an expert in the field of human environment and earth sciences in China, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a member of the Third World Academy of Sciences, and a member of the Academy of Eurasian Sciences.
