The composite pressure vessel discussed in this paper is a tank that is lined with aluminum, glass-fiber reinforced, and epoxy-based adhesive. The main feature of this composite container is light weight. To assess the long-term performance of such containers, the NASA Johnson Space Center (NASA JSC) purchased about 30 containers for long-term environmental testing conducted by the Aeronautic and Astronaut Lewis Research Center (LeRC). The container is stored in the outdoor environment for 10 years under pressurized conditions, during which time the container is periodically subjected to a cycle and burst test. Composite uncoated. The results of the environmental tests show that the strength of the pressure vessel is significantly reduced. The same pressure vessel is stored indoors with almost no loss of strength. This article includes: a description of the container, a discussion of the test plan, the data for each container, the corresponding charts, and a comparison, and finally concludes.
