蕹菜(Ipomoea aquatica Forsk.)俗称空心菜,为福州市夏秋季主要当家蔬菜品种之一,全年种植8000多亩次,上市量20万担右右,约占全年蔬菜总上市量的10%。蕹菜抗风、抗涝、耐热、耐雨性强,生长迅速,在夏秋季节播种后30天左右即可采摘上市。品质鲜嫩,风味好,是市民喜好的蔬菜。但6~10月常遭白锈病(Albugo ipomoeae-aquaticae Saw.)为害,尤以8~9月受害更重。蕹菜受白锈病为害后,轻者降低品质,重则失去商品价值。影响蔬菜购销计划和菜农收入。因此,防治白锈病已成为蕹菜生产急待解
