联合国大会艾滋病特别会议 6月底在联合国总部闭幕。 这是联合国历史上首次召开以讨论艾滋病问题为主题的特别会议,显示了联合国对在全球范围内遏制艾滋病传播的坚强决心。出席会议的包括20多个国家元首和政府首脑,其中绝大多数来自艾滋病肆虐的非洲地区,体现了他们希望早日控制艾滋病病毒传播的急迫心情,他们代表广大发展中国家,向国际杜会,特别是西方国家政府与西方制药公司发出强烈呼吁:希望发展中国家每个艾滋病患者都能够得到价格低廉、疗效明显的艾滋病药物。
The special session on AIDS of the UN General Assembly ended at the United Nations headquarters in late June. This is the first special meeting ever held in the history of the United Nations to discuss the issue of AIDS. It shows the strong determination of the United Nations to stop the spread of AIDS on a global scale. The summit attended by more than 20 heads of state and government, the vast majority of them from the AIDS-afflicted African region, embodies their desire to control their HIV transmission at an early date. On behalf of a large number of developing countries, they represent the international community, It is a strong appeal made by western governments and western pharmaceutical companies that every AIDS patient in developing countries should expect low-cost and curative AIDS drugs.
