Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of survivin gene and p53 gene and prognosis in breast cancer. Methods The expressions of survivin and p53 in 80 cases of breast cancer were detected by immunohistochemical SP method. The relationship between the expression of survivin and p53 in axillary lymph node metastasis and 5 year disease-free survival rate was analyzed. Results The positive rate of survivin gene in breast cancer was 68.75% (55/80) and the positive rate of p53 gene was 46.25% (37/80), all of which were correlated with axillary lymph node metastasis (P <0.05) Survival rate (P <0.05). The expression of survivin and p53 had no significant correlation with tumor pathological type, age at onset and clinical stage (P> 0.05). The expression of survivin and p53 was correlated with the expression of p53 (P = 0.0025). Conclusion The survivin and p53 genes may play an important role in the occurrence and development of breast cancer. Combined detection can better predict the prognosis of breast cancer.
