针对目前水泵水轮机全特性采用两簇平面曲线表达方式存在开度线交叉、聚焦和扭卷现象,以及不易准确掌握其工况转换过程中可逆性的变化规律的问题,提出了水泵水轮机全特性空间曲面描述方法,即将水泵水轮机4个工作参数间的强非线性关系表达为全特性空间曲面,并构建了反映工作参数在单位流量与单位转速平面与流量特性曲线间的距离与方位的位置空间曲面,以表达水泵水轮机全特性空间曲面应满足的约束关系。结果表明,该方法不仅可以彻底解决其工作参数间强非线性关系这一根本性的表达难题,还为解决不同工况下水泵水轮机单位参数的计算问题奠定了基础。
