Archeological data show that Paleolithic animal art has begun to sprout, but only a small number of rock paintings, bone carvings, stone carvings. In the Neolithic Age, the advent of pottery made the combination of new materials with ancient animal art and created a brand new animal art - animal sculpture. With the passage of time, the geographical distribution of animals and plants has been expanding, leaving quite a wealth of research materials. However, most of the previous studies mainly stayed on the level of art, failing to fully analyze them as archaeological cultural relics and ignoring other rich information provided by them. Therefore, this article intends to make a little research on the space-time distribution, characteristics, properties and uses of Chinese prehistoric animal pottery from the perspective of archeology and put forward the questions reflected.
