Of the 5 cases, 4 were female with intermittent vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge of brown discharge, abdominal pain and nausea, or spasms and mild abdominal pain. Some patients have had pelvic inflammatory disease and a history of vaginal yeast infections. One patient had a history of 5 years of external genitalia, with localized pain and swelling.
