The writers in the United States are quite influential in the history of Arabic modern literature and are an important part of the “overseas literature” or “expatriate literature” in the Arab region. Since the end of the nineteenth century, these writers, unbearable to the authoritarian rule of the Ottoman Empire, have come to the Americas to seek freedom and seek development. Almost all of these immigrant writers call themselves “Syrians,” mostly from Lebanon, but because of their history in the Syrian Arab Republic, the “American-American” writers are historically called “Syrian-Americans.” These immigrant writers are mainly located in North America, the United States, the center is New York, and South America, Brazil, Argentina, the center is Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires. Because North American immigrant writers influence much more than South American immigrant writers, this article mainly analyzes and explains the aesthetic charm of casual writings with North American immigrant writers as representatives.
