This article reports the results of an indirect immunofluorescence assay for leishmaniasis in humans, tropical Leishmania infection, and L. enriettii infection in guinea pigs. At 12 days after guinea pig infection with L. enriettii, indirect immunofluorescence detected antibodies at 1/64 titers. Antibody titers and intensities continued to increase up to about the 76th day of damage during infection. During and after the healing of the lesion, the titer of the antibody decreased from 1 to 2 dilutions from 76 days. Antibody titers in normal control guinea pigs ranged from 0 to 1/16. In animals with metastatic disease, antibody titers have been high. And at lower titers fluorescence is very strong. Antibody was detected at 1/64 titer 23 days after infection with Leishmania in mice. Antibody titers and fluorescence intensities increased during infection, and were 94 days after infection
