The south boundary of the Dabie eclogite terrain is concordant with the south margin of the granitic gneisswith eclogite blocks. The boundary extends west-east along Taihu-Mamiao with a south dip. The range ofthe peak metamorphic pressure-temperature is estimated from the eclogite as 2.0-2.5 GPa and 460-520℃,as suggesting a paleo-geothermal gradient as low as 7-10 ℃/km. The mafic blocks, amphibolite andgarnet-amphibolite, in mica-gneiss on the south of the boundary experienced metamorphism of epidoteamphibolite factes. Their peak metamorphic P-T estimation yields 0.8 GPa and 470 ℃. Both eclogite andamphibolite experienced a temperature- in ore asing-pressure-deers asing metamorphi c event after their peakmetamorphism, although they show a gap in their metamorphic pressure. The P-T paths of eclogite andamphibolite, the metamorphic pressure gap across the south boundary, and the shear sense of the southboundary faults integTally imply an up-extrusion tectonic event. When the eclogite terrain was squeezedup, its south margin was heated by its central poftion of hot coesite eclogite.
