目前我们培育新品种主要是采用有性杂交的方法,如果要想获得一个既早熟又高产的新材料,首先必须选用熟期差异大,地理远缘的双亲进行交配,才能使子代出现一个具有双亲优点的早熟高产的新品种。然而我区处于高寒地带,活动积温仅有2200~2500度,种植2500度积温的晚熟品种一般不能正常成熟,最近我们利用谷子短光照的特点,对晚熟亲本遮光,减少光照时数,使之达到花期相遇。实践证明,这个方法能使熟期差异大的双亲,获得花期正需相遇的良好效果。
