Kemp (1978) first reported evoked acoustic emission (EAEs) of the human auditory system. The purpose of this paper was to investigate the age-related changes in the characteristics (frequency, threshold, and spectrum) of EAEs in 151 ears (2-88 years). Incidence: 100% of EAEs are present within 60 years of age and 35% of those over 60 years of age. Threshold. The absolute thresholds of EAEs (dB, HL) varied with age.
