The half-absorption thickness is the thickness at which the material prevents half the incident radiation. The effective penetration thickness of ~ (90) Yβ rays in the soil can be calculated from the semi-absorption thickness. The effective penetrating thickness of ~ (90) Yβ ray in soil is the key data of its operation when using plastic scintillation fiber array detector to measure ~ (90) Y in soil.
